What happens next?
On Tuesday 15 January 2019, the House of Commons voted by a majority of 230 votes to reject Prime Minister Theresa May’s Withdrawal Agreement. This was the single biggest government defeat in Parliament’s history.
The focus has now shifted to trying to unite MPs around a single position over how to proceed with leaving the EU, as well as meeting legal and procedural requirements.
