What's on the agenda this month

Discussions on Brexit will dominate Parliament when MPs and Peers return from the summer recess in September with the House of Lords due to debate two key pieces of legislation; the Trade Bill and the Taxation (Cross-border Trade) Bill.
Early September will see Ofgem publish their much awaited policy decision on implementing the energy price cap. In related news, the National Audit Office will also publish their much anticipated investigation into the £11bn smart meter programme this summer.
Meanwhile, the 11th September will see the world’s first zero emission vehicle summit, which is being hosted by the Government in Birmingham.
Finally, after the Government recently gave Cuadrilla the green light to begin fracking at its site in Lancashire. As a result, operations are expected to begin shortly. Furthermore, this summer, the Government will start implementing a range of polices to speed up the development of the industry, including the establishment of a Shale Regulator.
